[The Morenos] The Teacher Files #2
Marshall Jennings, the most world renowned famous theater teacher at Central Arts and everyone’s favorite teacher had always been the type to direct his award-winning shows featuring his students but most of all he was well loved by his peers. Ok, all of what was said was a straight up lie. He wasn’t a world renowned theater teacher nor was he anyone’s favorite. Even his peers found him to be a bit of a pain to deal with. But no less he still acted as if he was the best thing since sliced bread. All because his tenure at the school made it almost impossible for anyone to tell him that he wasn’t what he thought he was. Of course, he did spend a lot of his time in meetings trying to argue his so-called valid points of why his theater program should be the main focus of Central Arts.
Many a time he got his way but this time he had to deal with having to go to the school to get teachers to agree with his plans. Needless to say, it wasn’

Zsuzsanna came to live with us in 1712, when she was twenty or so.  Her father was my daddy's younger brother, so she was also a Nagyszentmiklosy.  Her father had died and her brother had inherited the estate, so she could either stay there or come to us.  She came to us.

For a few months, anyway.  Eventually she met our neighbor Istvan, who came over to borrow something, was greeted by Zsuzsi, and immediately fell in love.  He proposed to her a few days later.  There was nothing unusual about that - you weren't particularly expected to know your future spouse very well in those days.

Well, stepmother Erzsebet decided to oppose the marriage.  I have no idea why, other than simple contrariness.  Istvan's qualifications were perfect: he was just the right level of nobility, rich, and fairly good looking.  So Erzsebet set herself against the match.

Well, Zsuzsi asked me to act as a go-between for her and Istvan.  They planned to elope!  And a few nights later, they did.  Istvan showed up on horseback, Zsuzsi was waiting for him with a bag packed, and off they went, presumably to his castle.  Where I suppose they lived happily ever after - I never heard that there were any problems with the marriage.  Of course Erzsebet wrote them off as a lost cause - another defeat for her, ha ha!
  • Listening to: Tom chattering in English
  • Reading: my journal, over his shoulder
  • Watching: for the next full moon (not yours, Pandora)
  • Playing: Pinochle on your snout
  • Eating: Steak tartare - the nearest substitute
  • Drinking: AB Positive, my fave!

Hmm...I didn't.  My best guess is that Tom did.  He's into that kind of thing.

:iconchronophontes:  I suspect she's right.  Euthie doesn't even like to say thank you, let alone you're welcome.
